UP News: The way is clear for the recruitment of 52 thousand vacant posts of Anganwadi workers, EWS will also get the benefit of reservation

Under the Child Development Project programme, the way has been cleared for the recruitment of 52 thousand posts of Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi workers and assistants. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will also get the benefit of reservation in this recruitment.

The government issued an order rescheduling the selection process for appointment to these posts. In January 2021, the government had taken out the recruitment of 52 thousand posts. At that time there was no provision for EWS reservation in the selection process. As a result the matter went to the court and till now the recruitment was stuck.

On Tuesday, the department’s secretary Anamika Singh issued a new mandate. In this, provision has been made for reservation for SC, ST, OBC, Divyang and dependents of freedom fighters as well as for EWS. Now EWS category candidates will be able to get 10 percent reservation in recruitment. This has cleared the way for starting the recruitment process which has been stuck for two years.

Don’t get stuck again: Child Development Project Officer has also been made a member/presenter in the selection committee along with the previously determined members. Earlier they were not included. While according to the guidelines of the Center, BDO and Tehsildar should also be included in the selection committee. If this does not happen, once again the screw may get stuck in the recruitment.
