According to media reports, Shashi Kapoor told in an interview in 2012 that he was nominated for the National Award for the film ‘Dharmaputra’, but he did not find it right to accept the award. Shashi Kapoor was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011 by the Government of India for his contribution to cinema. The actor was awarded the ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Award’ in 2015. The actor died in 2017 at the age of 79, but his films and Prithvi continue to influence the field of theater arts.
