Mumbai: The dialogues of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1975 film Deewar were written by the Salim-Javed duo. It is said that after the success of this film, his fee was increased to 8 lakhs. Where ‘Zanjeer’ made Amitabh an angry young man, ‘Deewar’ brought him to the center stage. The temple scenes of this film and the monologue ‘Aaj Khush to Bahut Hoge Tum..’ are discussed even after years. Amitabh was so scared before speaking this dialogue that he locked himself in the room for hours.

Amitabh Bachchan had practiced a lot standing in front of the mirror for the temple scene and monologue of the film ‘Deewar’, but deliberately did not dub this scene, because he felt that the emotion that would be felt for the first time, that role in dubbing Will not be able to bring it again. Amitabh himself had told that before this scene he was so scared that he was sitting in his room from morning till night.

It was difficult for Amitabh to do the temple scene
Amitabh Bachchan had told during the quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ that ‘sometimes some scenes are such that it is very difficult to do. It seems that it is very difficult and you will not be able to do it immediately, it takes time to crack it. There was a scene in my film Deewar, in which my character Vijay goes to the temple for the first time and prays for his mother. It was very difficult for me. I got ready in the morning after getting my makeup done. Yash Chopra came on the set and said – Come on brother shot is ready, believe me I could not come out of my room’.

Amitabh had locked himself in the room
Amitabh Bachchan further said, ‘We started at 7 in the morning and I kept sitting in my room till 10 in the night. I didn’t even come out of the room. I could not understand how to do such scenes. It was a character who didn’t believe in God but had to pray for his mother’s life, so I didn’t know what to say in front of the camera and how to act but I salute the writer Karna chahta hoon, who wrote the script..his first line was-‘Aaj khush ko bahut hoge tum..’.
