PSL 2023 Lahore Qalandars In Final: The second eliminator match of Pakistan Super League was played on March 17 between the teams of Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars. In this high scoring match, Lahore defeated Peshawar by 4 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi’s team Lahore Qalandars reached the final after winning the second eliminator. Babar Azam’s team Peshawar Zalmi scored 171 runs for 5 wickets while batting first. Chasing the target of 172 runs for victory, Lahore achieved the target at the loss of 6 wickets. Mirza Baig played an important role in winning the match to Lahore Qalandars.

Lahore scored 171 runs

In the second eliminator match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi scored 171 runs for 5 wickets after winning the toss and batting first. Mohammad Haris was the highest scorer for Peshawar. He played an inning of 85 runs. Apart from this, Babar Azam was dismissed after scoring 42 runs. While an inning of 25 runs came out from the bat of Bhanuka Rajapakse. In this way Peshawar Zalmi’s team was able to score 171 runs for 5 wickets. Zaman Khan and Rashid Khan took 2-2 wickets for Lahore Qalandars. While Shaheen Shah Afridi got one wicket.

Lahore Qalandars, who were bundled out for 76 runs in the first qualifier, performed strongly in the second eliminator match. Chasing the target of 172 runs for victory, Lahore achieved the target at the loss of 6 wickets in 18.5 overs. Mirza Baig played an inning of 54 runs while batting brilliantly. Apart from them, Sam Billings 28, Sikandar Raza 23 and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi scored 12 runs off 4 balls. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers failed to take wickets at regular intervals. Azmatullah Omarzai took maximum 2 wickets for Babar Azam’s team. Apart from them Wahab Riaz, Aamer Jamal and Salman Irshad got 1-1 wickets. Mirza Baig, who scored an inning of 54 runs in the Eliminator match, was awarded the Player of the Match title.
