Earlier, Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav had met Mamta Banerjee in Kolkata. On the other hand, on the role of Congress in this proposed opposition front, Yadav said that it is for the oldest party to decide. He said that there are regional parties in different states fighting the BJP and many have also formed their own government.
He said that efforts are on to form an opposition alliance and a front. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao are trying for an alliance. Further said that I am confident that in the coming days, an opposition alliance will take shape, which will fight against the BJP.
Congress does not exist in comparison to BJP
He said Congress is non-existent in many states compared to BJP, but regional parties are fighting with all their might against the saffron camp and I hope they will be successful. When told that regional parties like JDU, RJD and DMK want to include Congress in the opposition alliance, Akhilesh Yadav said that they are already in alliance with the grand old party. He said that it is a question of a big fight and the Congress itself will decide its role in this fight.
SP workers are being killed in Amethi
Without naming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that he made false promises to win the elections. Along with this, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that SP workers are being killed in Amethi. He said that our workers are being killed in Amethi. Samajwadi Party workers are asking who will fight for them. It is the socialist workers there who are supporting each other. Congress workers are not coming in our support.
SP targets to win 50 seats in UP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections
