The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government has made it mandatory for girl students and female teachers in co-ed teachers’ institutions in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to wear hijab. The government has issued a notification in this regard. Along with this, strict action will be taken against those who do not follow the order.
According to the notification, it will be mandatory for girl students and teachers to wear hijab in the institutions. According to media reports, action will be taken against the head of the institution for violating the orders. Local journalists have criticized the government’s decision. Mariana Babar criticized the decision on her Twitter handle. The PoK government has made it mandatory for female students and teachers in co-ed educational institutions to wear hijab.
Murtaza Solangi has compared the government’s decision with the Taliban’s decision. Last year, the Taliban also made it mandatory for women in Afghanistan to wear the hijab in public. Solangi said, The toothless dentist (Pakistan President Arif Alvi) who acts like an activist of fascist party should answer how his government is implementing Taliban rule in PoK.
