Amid rising cases of Corona in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an important meeting today i.e. on Wednesday. During this, the situation of Corona in the country was reviewed. According to information, this high-level meeting was called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review the situation and public health preparedness amid the spurt in Corona cases.
Earlier on Wednesday, the updated data of the Union Health Ministry showed that 1134 new corona cases were registered in India. At present, 7,026 corona infected are being treated. Five people also died during this period. Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra have reported one death each. Apart from this, a corona infected person lost his life in Kerala. The daily positivity in the country was recorded at 1.09 per cent, while the weekly positivity was pegged at 0.98 per cent.
Five states increased the concern of the government
Earlier on March 16, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had written a letter to the states amidst increasing cases of corona. The Ministry had written a letter to Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka asking them to be vigilant about Corona. The Ministry had asked to follow the strategy of testing, track, treatment, vaccination and appropriate behavior to fight Corona. These states are witnessing a rise in Covid-19 cases. In such a situation, the government has been asked to monitor the situation under the Five Fold Strategy and take necessary measures.
Fear of worsening situation in Kerala
Corona cases have started increasing in Kerala. After this, the state government has issued an alert in all the districts on Wednesday. Health Minister Veena George said that the corona report of 172 people came positive in the state on Tuesday. Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts have more virus cases. There are currently 1,026 active cases in the state, out of which 111 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals. All districts have been alerted. Districts have also been instructed to strengthen monitoring.
Cases increased like this
In India, on 7th August 2020, the number of corona virus infected crossed 20 lakhs, on 23rd August 2020, 30 lakhs and on 5th September 2020, it crossed 40 lakhs. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country. On May 4, 2021, the number of infected had crossed two crore and on June 23, 2021, it crossed three crore. Last year on January 25, the total cases of infection had crossed four crores.
