Rahul Dravid on Suryakumar Yadav: Indian star batsman Suryakumar Yadav is currently playing the ODI series being played against Australia. Surya has appeared flop in both the matches of the series. In both the matches, he got out without opening the account on the first ball. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc made him his victim both times. Questions were raised about his poor performance in the ODI series. Meanwhile, Indian head coach Rahul Dravid came to his rescue. Dravid said that he is still learning the game of 50 overs.

‘He is still learning the game of 50’

After all kinds of questions were raised, Rahul Dravid came to the rescue of Suryakumar Yadav. Talking to a reporter on Tuesday, Dravid said, “I am not worried about Surya. He got out on two good balls. One thing about Surya is that he is still learning the game of 50. T20 is a bit different. He has played IPL for 10 years in T20. He has played a lot of T20. Have played many high pressure T20 games with him.

The head coach further said, “Even though he has played a lot of T20 cricket, I think he has not played much ODI cricket. We should give it some time and be patient. We are definitely looking at him doing well.”

Remembered Shreyas Iyer

Dravid remembered the team’s star batsman Shreyas Iyer. Iyer was ruled out of the ODI series due to his back injury. Talking about the batsman, he said, “Shreyas Iyer’s injury is unfortunate. He is probably one of those players who bats at number 4 and spends a lot of time at that position. If you see, we are stuck with people in position. There was a lot of T20 cricket played for two years in this run and we didn’t have much ODI cricket and if injuries happen, we have options.”
