The Union Home Ministry has also announced 10 percent reservation for ex-firefighters in the recruitment of vacant posts in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). A week ago, the Ministry of Home Affairs had made a similar announcement in BSF recruitment for Agniveers.

The ministry has also announced relaxation in the upper age limit for Agniveers. It will be available on the basis of first batch or subsequent batches of Agniveers. For this, the rules made under the Central Industrial Security Force Act, 1968 have been amended. The notification states that 10 percent of the posts will be reserved for ex-servicemen.

The ministry has said that the upper age limit will be relaxed up to five years for the candidates of the first batch of ex-Agniveers and up to three years for the candidates of other batches. The notification states that ex-employees will also be exempted from the physical test, that is, they will not have to undergo the physical test.
